I can see the Hilton Head.

sunsetish.jpgWe ended up taking one more "we can still do this kind of thing" little mini-vacation to Hilton Head last weekend. It was a very, very nice, relaxing, fun trip.

The big news this time was that we took Zoe. She, of course, has never seen the ocean -- and isn't really that big a fan of water to begin with (here she is pulling away from me and the scary, gigantic waves. also note the dad/granddad casually hanging out watching the proceedings.). And while she eventually got used to things, what she really began to appreciate was getting her fur all nasty wet and then diving into the sand and rolling around.

So that was fun. Other fun stuff that we did: ate nice seafood dinners, took long walks on the beach, read books, saw real live, un-Sea World-ed dolphins jumping around in the ocean, went to Burger King, stopped by a place that wants to make our dog famous, got plenty of ice-cream, went to a playground and watched little kids playing. That last one was one of the most fun things we did. Just seeing the crazy, chaotic patterns of these kids was the best. Monkey bars! No, up the slide now! Wait! Climb that tree stump! Do those monkey bars again! Scream! Pick up sand and put it in the swing's seat! Meanwhile the parents would just kinda lope alongside their kids watching and hovering in spotter position.

Bottom line: it was fun break, but we're even more excited to get this baby show on the road.
