Rise and shine.

It's so much fun seeing Luke greet you from his crib when you walk into his room - like he's been waiting in anticipation for you ever since he woke up. Most of the time he's standing up, watching the crack of the door like a hawk until he sees your shadow. Occasionally, though, you might actually catch him while he's still lying down. In that case, I've never seen a human being try to act more "I wasn't really asleep" than he does. Bleary-eyed and crazy-haired, he tries to stand up as quickly as possible without losing his balance in his sleep-drunken state.

I think I've mentioned before that we scatter pacifiers in his crib so that he can find at least one of them in the middle of the night should he need one. This is what ends up happening to them all. And in the morning, as he stands up and waits for the first person to come get him up, one by one they quietly slip to the floor until there are none left...

[But wait, there's more!]
