QotM. #0067:

Luke: "Silas has a new pacifier! Miss Karri gave it to him. Did Silas say 'thank you'?"
Mommy: "No...but it's okay. I told them 'thank you' from Silas."
Luke: "Oh, that's right. He can't talk. {yelling} Thank you, Miss Karri! {pause} They can't hear me! They're too far away. Oh, no!"

- Luke, picking up the slack for Silas after the Foxes loaned us an emergency pacifier (thanks, guys!)

Since it was already established (QOTM #61) that Luke could never do or say anything against Silas, do you think Luke actually forgot about Silas's verbal skills or was this just him being ironic?

Wow! I am so excited to have merited a mention on "A Teague of Their Own." Very cool. Thanks, Luke.

My guess is ironic. He always reminds us that Silas can't talk when we try to engage Silas in conversation. For instance, "Silas, did you like your dinner? Was that good?" "He can't talk, Mommy."
