Dirty knees no more.
Kicking off a two-week, Hilton Head-based set of Teague Pictures of the Day is a fun video first. Silas walks! [
14.7Mb Quicktime movie]
Technically, he took his first solo steps during the July 4th weekend. But it was at the beach that he finally took off. As long as he could find something to climb up (coffee table, human being, sand castle, etc.) he was off and walking for a good distance. Eventually it got to the point where he'd go 30-40 steps, fall, and look at you in frustration -- wondering why you'd allowed him to get so far only to be roadblocked by wobbly balance and gravity.
But now, walking is his primary form of mobility, and we can finally put the kneepads away.

I couldn't get the walking Silas video to open! It went back to your "dead" page. Am I doing something wrong?
What kind of camera do you guys have? The colors are always so vibrant! Wow! Do you use a photo editing program to enhance them, or do you just put them up as they are?
The vacation looked like a blast! Looking forward to the next two weeks of pics.

Sorry, Abigail. The link was only working from the home page! I fixed it. Come back!
As for our still camera, right after Silas was born we ended up getting a Nikon D50. It's been fantastic for us. But you've got a good eye! I definitely run most of the photos through Photoshop for some basic levels, contrast, and sharpening work. Nothing too fancy, but it does help make them closer to the way they looked in real life. The main thing about this particular camera is that it lets us take 2.5 photos a second -- if we just keep snapping away, we're bound to capture something decent.

We SO need to get that camera. :-)
I love the video. Silas looks so proud of himself, and the ending is the best.

Thank you for allowing us to share in the thrill of Silas' first steps. This video could definitely win an award! A masterpiece!!! You captured everything---the struggle, the unsteady beginnings, the triumph, the love of brothers. I hope you two agreed with that sermon yesterday, I'd like to see you have a bunch of children. You are amazing parents. Well done.

Greatest video ever . . . you guys could probably bundle all the videos together, throw in some deleted scenes, make a DVD out of it, and build a store from there.
Looks like Silas is doing his best imitation of Taylor Hicks in that photo.
What a great day!

The look on Silas' face is just fabulous - so focused and determined. How many more years until I can get him in my class?

Classic video. Silas - has some pretty cool shorts. Josh said Taylor Hicks - I may be showing my age a little but I thought Silas' jelly legs were a little more thrillin' that Taylor's...

I came back, don't worry! The video is gorgeous! It made me cry, thinking of Matthew's first steps in the probably-not-too-distant future. And that music always gets me. Love the original movie, too, from whence cameth the soundtracketh.

I just had to comment on this video! The Chariots of Fire song always makes me cry or run faster, depending on the situation, but it really got me this time. How beautiful! I just love the first shot of Luke running around Silas as he goes. So proud! Well done...
