Rice Krispie-eating.
I don't know if this is going to translate, but it's just a small example of how totally and completely amazing little kids' brains can be. We were getting ready for breakfast when I noticed Luke silently rearranging day-old crumbs on his placemat. I quickly grabbed the camera and snapped the above shots. I'm not sure his actions were even big enough in his own world to warrant a spontaneous explanation to daddy, but I pressed him just to make sure.
Yep, he was feeding the dinosaurs the leftovers. The thing that gets me is that I would never have thought twice about the fact that this placemat of dinosaurs featured them in gaping, open-mouthed poses. This world is full of details that we adults have simply stopped processing. We just don't see certain things anymore. But the 2 year old eyes. Man, they're good. Picture taken January 29, 2006. | |
